Strip #25! And… oh, what a chore it is to get it to you. First off, apologies for not getting this posted three weeks ago, as I had planned. See, the thing about that is, a few days after my last post on here, someone broke into my apartment while I was at work. The bastards didn’t take too much, really, but among the stolen loot was my computer. They left the scanner, which I guess is a tiny silver lining, but it’s not much use without anything to hook it up to. It’ll be a few months before I can spring for a new computer at this point… of course I didn’t have insurance… so in the meantime I’ll have to work on comics on the computer at work when I can find a free evening here and there.
Anyway, hope you liked the new comic and I’ll try to get the next one up soon. I should probably also apologize for using the dreaded Comic Sans MS in this strip… the computers at work really have a very limited selection of fonts in Photoshop, so in this case it really was the best option.
I also lost my printer, my iPod, and two digital cameras (one really nice one and one old crappy one). All things considered, it could’ve been a lot worse, but it still stinks. And of course, I lost all of the comic-related stuff I had on my hard drive, including all the new graphics and stuff I had worked up for the site redesign I was hoping to launch with comic #25. Thankfully I still have all the original hand-drawn art for all of that and all of my strips. If I ever end up printing these things in a book or anything, I’ll need to re-scan, colour and letter almost every strip to date.
The good thing about not having a computer is I don’t stay up until 2AM on Facebook doing nothing all night, so that’s good… but it makes creating a webcomic about a million times more frustrating. So, while I’m saving up for a new computer, I’m putting up a PayPal donation button for anyone who might want to kick in a buck or two to help me get there. If anyone donates $5 or more and includes their address, I’ll see what I can do about mailing a little sketch or something your way.
